Brushos and a Poppy

Welcome

Thank you for visiting today

I thought I had blogged this card, but where I discovered it in my files today meant I obviously have not shared it!

I started by playing with a piece of normal card and brushos, and lots of water.
If I remember correctly I had to 'book it' for a couple of days after drying it!

I die cut the M/B Prim Poppy out of the background, and also from white card, and coloured the latter cut with Prismacolor pencils before inserting it into the negative on the background.
(The blue die cut was used on this card)

The sentiment was stamped onto white card and cut using a S/B die.  I put white card behind the orange chiffon ribbon to let the colour remain true, and not be contaminated by the blue background.

Clear rhinestones finished the feature panel, which was mounted over line green and then white card.

I finished the inside with a layer of card, which I edged using orange ink, and added another strip of ribbon too.

So beautiful .the red poppies look gorgeous on the blue bg. After being inspired by your Brushos creations, I bought some. But haven't used them yet. Must take them out soon.

The blue brusho color looks amazing on the background. And the inlaid poppies look awesome next to the background.

Tip: You may know this already but you can run a warped piece of card stock through your die cutter to flatten it out (especially if you needed to finish the card quickly). Make sure you lay a piece of plain paper on top of the painted card so the paint does not come off on your cutting plate. I have often placed my warped fronts from water coloring under books for several days too.

Hugs, Fran

A beautiful card and the brushos background is lovely. I hate having to flatten paper or card after using the brushos so I'll take the tip on board about using my die cutter. Thank you for joining us at INTAAS. Hazel x
