Purple Rats Reign!!

Welcome

Believe it or not, the rat is purple... it's the camera that is lying...

The background for the card is the bubble technique, but as I don't have re-inkers or tube water colours, I changed things up a bit

I started with a piece of white (linen) cardstock, sponged it with Distress inks,, and then dipped it into the uncoloured bubbles, left it a few ticks and then popped a paper towel over it to dry it off.
I was thrilled with the results!

 What to do with it?

I stamped the rat from Katzelkraft Les Rats De Ville set on a snippet and then coloured him purple with my Prismacolor pencils

The child I made the card for is turning one, so I punched a group of balloons from sparkle card, and also the digit 1, tied some metallic sewing thread around them , and attached them to the rat's tail.

I stamped and embossed in gold the simple greeting,

and decorated the inside with a snippet from trimming the background to fit the card front.

I am linking this card to:
Surely a Purple Rat counts as cute?
This is one friendly rat!!
What could be cuter than a purple rat?
The rat and the bottom right balloon are purple

I once had rats in my loft space when I lived by a river. The whole area had them so I shudder at the thought of rats but I do like your one. He is actually so cute. Katzelkraft do the most delightful animal stamps don't they? He looks very French I must say.
The background is gorgeous. What did you use to stamp the bubbles over the whole background - the effect is truly amazing.
Glad you are keeping busy with your crafting and talking to your neighbour over the garden fence. At times like this we need to keep up friendships in as many ways as swe can.
Blessings, Neet xx

I'm not familiar with the bubble technique. I'll have to look it up while I have the time to have a play with new techniques. I really like your card and your purple rat Maxine.

Awe, such a sweet card for a one year old, Maxine. Love the treatment you gave to it instead of the bubble technique. Thanks for the pictorial tutorial and so well explained at that.
