Welcome
I made this card recently for a keen patchworker.
I started with the idea for the main panel, which looks deceptively simple, but it took me a lot of doodling and measuring on scrap paper before it got the shapes to 'work'!
All the paper snippets came from the same pad, which has been on my shelf for some time
(um er, I'm not sure how long, but... )
I paper pieced the pincushion and thimble, then overstamped it using embossing ink, then silver embossed it.
The wee strawberry beside the pincushion is an emery bag, used to sharpen you pins and needles.
The papers were carefully placed apart on the cream layer so I could faux stitch between them, using a fine-line pen.
I stamped the sentiment in espresso ink and trimmed it out to a banner shape, layering it on a snippet of orange card, and also 'stitching' around the words. The orange base card was 'stitched' with a silver pen.
I finished the inside by stamping the pincushion again in the espresso ink, off the edge of the page.

Your doodling and artwork is fantastic. As you know I pay attention to the details. Very well done and the patchworker receiving it will love it.

Loving the zesty colours Maxine and the silver embossing works very well with that colourway.

So cute.
Maxine, all of your doodling on scrap paper sure paid off, because this card looks great!
I can only imagine how much time it took to get this pattern all aligned up so perfectly. But it sure is a gorgeous design. Love the pin cushion too! And great colors and mix of papers.
Really like the lovely stamp you used and the embossing. Thanks for joining Stamping Sensations. Anesha x
That is a lovely idea for a patchworker, Maxine, I am sure she loved it. I love the way you have 'fauz' stitched between the patterns
What a fabulous design Maxine! You sure pulled out all the stops on this one. CarolG
Really pretty card, Maxine! I like the patchwork.
Brilliant and so effective, great design as always. Your patchwork is pretty cool. xx
delightful Maxine. Lovely card.
OMGosh Maxine, I adore this card! I know the struggles of getting a design like this to line up right, looks simple but definitely isn't! That pincushion is adorable. I have a plain tomato one with the strawberry attached to sharpen pins and needles. I think they were quite popular in the day. lol Mine is old and I have no plans to get rid of it or to stop using it. I can imagine the person who received this card love it just as I do! Hugs, Brenda
What a super card! Great colour-working and has a real autu,m-feel! Hugs, Gerrina
Hi Maxine, I hope you are staying safe in lockdown, it's two months today since we went into lockdown and there has only been one case in all this time in our government area. Love your quilting card and it is a fabulous way to use up some of the leftover bits. Thank you for joining us at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends, good luck in the prize draw.. Megan DT LPoCF
Fun birthday card and great design. Perfect for any seamstress. PS- I still own a pincushion exactly like this!
What a brilliant idea to think of doing a patchwork card like this one for a quilting friend. I am well impressed with your faux stitching. That must have taken you quite a while to do it so neatly.
Great idea with the pincushion and I have never heard of an emery bag but it looks cute sitting there. Beautiful embossing throughout.
Blessings, Neet xx
ps I love the pumpkin pincushion just peeking on the inside.
I love this stamp, Maxine. My mother (and everyone pretty much) had one of those cherry red tomato pin cushions w/strawberry hanging off of it. I'm so used to seeing it in that particular color pattern, so your card was an unexpected surprise of colors. What a lovely memory...thanks for sharing.
Blessings,
Karen
What a lovely patchwork card!

Wow oh wow, Maxine! This paper piecing is amazing! I love the silver embossing! I also never knew what that little strawberry was for on my mom's old pin cushion. Thank you for the lesson :0)
Wow! This is fabulous! I love your snippet use and the faux stitching in between. Thanks for playing along at Pixies Crafty Workshop. Bonnie GDT
This is a "wow" card! So very nicely done!
This is really lovely Maxine. I like that you also patchworked the pin cushion, although it does look like it was probably very fiddly.
What a perfect card for patchworker! I bet she'll be delighted!! Gorgeous design and so clever. The little pin cushion is fab in the silver embossing. Hugs, Wends xoxo
