Card for a Quilter

Welcome

I was blessed earlier in the year to 'win' an IG giveaway by Meghan K. and received a gorgeous Jillbean stamp of a sewing machine.  I immediately knew who I wanted to make a card for using it.

I started by embossing the image in white on black, as the recipient has white sewing machines.
I cut a slit where the presser foot would sit, and slid a snippet of pink ribbon into it.

I chose the paper as the design looks like a quilt pattern,
and embossed it using a TH folder,  then sanded the embossing lightly to add definition.

The sentiment panel was also white embossed over black card.
Both the image panel and the sentiment panel were mounted over snippets of pink metallic paper
I ran a pink ribbon across the centre, and then added the wee scissor charm

The panel was mounted over dark pink card, with more snippets of the metallic paper  under the top left and bottom right corners.
The inside was decorated with some of the ribbon.

The card was very well received!

Oh your creative ideas always amazes me Maxine! This reminds me of my friend who recently got married to a Czech Man and now they live in Czechia. She loves to sew so much that she brought her favorite sewing machine from here to Europe!

Woah there Maxine - as a sewing machine person (not as much as I'd like now) - this is incredible! Too thoughtful AND the strip of ribbon under the 'foot' is the icing on the cake! Love it

How lucky you won that stamp of a sewing machine and how clever of you to put a slit in and add some ribbon to represent fabric being sewn. a super card Maxine and I love the background and the way you have mounted the focal image.
