Release Day again :-)

A warm welcome to all who call by!! I do appreciate your visits.

This week at McMahon Five Design  there are six new releases in the digital range of stamps, and I am showcasing two of them.

Firstly there it the image named The Rose from the

This is a wonderful image and I enjoyed working with it - I coloured it with chalks, and distressed the edges and sponged them with Tea Stain distress ink.

This was mounted on a thin piece of design paper that had skeletal leaves printed in gold on it, then mounted on kraft cardstock.

For a slightly more aged look, I rolled two of the corners and painted the back with Pearlescent gold ink, and also added a layer of the ink over the distress ink on the edges, which gave a wonderful depth to the distressed edges.

The narrow pink ribbon was gathered by hand and caught under the edges of the d/p, and a wee rose (part of a RAK) was added in the corner.

And for those of you who wish to peruse the poem by Edmund Waller, here is a photo of it.

Also from  McMahon Vintage Digital comes the nursery rhyme image
Little Miss Muffet

I used chalks  and a blender pen to colour Miss Muffet and her (unwelcome) companion.  After colouring them I added the "cobweb" to the image before mounting it on some deep crimson card stock.

This was mounted on pink card stock (sponged with Rouge chalk ink) with a layer of florists mesh between - this has a gold thread in it that gives a lovely sparkle.

I added the half vintage corner after painting it with Oyster Twinkling H2O - the clear 'cobweb' is a Christmas decoration I bought from a local florist/gift shop last year.

The final detail was this braid -

that was made with a narrow piece of white ric-rak, rubbed over the Rouge chalk ink pad and then wound with the 'cobweb'.

Christchurch Relief Auctions

Thank you for calling - it is just a quick post today.
I made some cards for the Handmade for Christchurch  project on facebook - all the items are donated and then auctioned on the NZ/Aus auction site Trade Me, with profits going to the designated charities.

I used the Cottage Rose Cling Art Stamp  from Layers of Color, after stamping the front edge was cut back, and a punched border in a co-ordinating colour was adhered to the back layer of the card.
The punch is the lace border from Martha Stewart
There was no sentiment stamped either the on front or inside, so the cards can be used in many ways - for letters or specific occasions.

This is the full set - envelopes included.

Thanks for calling by - may your day be blessed.

Roses for a Birthday

Greetings to all my cyber friends - I trust you have all had a wonderful Christmas - as we have, rich with family and friends.

I made this card before we came on holiday for my dear SIL who has a birthday tomorrow.

I have had this stamp for a while now and took this opportunity to ink it up. I loved the way Nina Bracket from Crafting in Croatia used this stamp, Cottage Rose in a  pre-release design from Layers of Color.  I have discovered that although I 'cased' her card (from memory), mine turned out totally different - maybe my memory was not as accurate as I thought.

I also used the LOC brick wall stamp in the background of this card, embossing it in copper and lightly shading it with chalks.
The rose was also coloured with chalks and a wee bit if crystal Kindy Glitz added for some sparkle, and a sentiment stamped and embossed with gold.
Ribbon was added to look as though the stalks were tied together, and some rhinestones for a wee bit of bling.

The 'cased' element of the card was that part of the background of the stamp was cut away - this I did on the diagonal, and with the white on the black base gave the whole a sense of dimension.
I enjoyed making this card, and hope you have enjoyed your visit.
I am not linking this to any challenges as it is in the middle of the holiday season, and I had better not spend too much time on the computer while visiting.

Now I have returned home, I will link this to the following challenges:
