Alcohol again... and some foiling

Welcome

Last weekend I had fun playing with my alcohol inks again - I used two greens and two yellow/golds on some yupo 'paper'.

Before the inks were fully dried, I put some bronze foil on the damp spots, and loved the resulting spots of metallic shimmer

I was inspired by this post at Sundaystamper  Papercrafts blog to use a negative die cut over the background, which in some spots was not how I wanted it to look!

I finished the card by stamping the sentiment and dragonfly in Delicata Gold  for a  subtle effect, letting the negative die cut take the eye.

I trimmed the die cut piece to be slightly smaller than the yupo, to make the most of the inks that extended to the edge of the paper, and then mounted both layers onto a deep green base.

The 'positive' die cut I left in the die and stippled two green inks on it

and then adhered it to the left of the inside of the card.

Beautiful with the little bit of foiling; makes it a 'rich'card whilst it was already an elegant one!
And beautiful how you made the insite aswel! Hugs, Gerrina

Beautifully done Maxine, yupo is fun, I’ve found some cheaply on eBay translucent with a shot pattern (like shot silk) through it in A4 sheets looking forward to seeing how it works.
Love you’re efforts to add the foil highlights. I’ve not tried that yet! Really makes it pop.
Thanks for being a blessing, God bless you too.

I wonder sometimes what we did before the magic of alcoholic inks and Yupo paper - and now with the added magic of foils! Whether using them for die cuts or as backgrounds behind negative die cuts, they are always useful as we cleverly work around the not-so-pretty bits! I love your design through and through and inside and out! Stunning, Maxine!! Hugs, Darnell

Ooh this is so clever and so lush and gorgeous with the gold foil accents. I so need to try this technique! Love the diecut idea too. I don't always love the whole of my inked pieces, so this is a really great use of those. Love it!! Hugs, Wends xoxo
