A Picture Perfect Flower

Welcome

I decided it was time that my picture perfect flower die had a first outing - it is a Memory Box die, but appears to have been discontinued... red face as it shows how long I have had it...

I started with a monoprint from the back of a stencil, taken after I had been having an afternoon experimenting...

The die was cut from white cardstock and coloured - the edge I used an acrylic gold paint on, the rest was coloured using watercolours.  The flower was layered, and in retrospect, I should have made the bottom layer a darker purple.

The sentiment was a magazine freebie and gold embossed - this was cut into a double ended fishtail banner - I layered it over some gold glitter paper that I had also used to punch the butterflies from.

The inside was decorated with more punched butterflies

The envelope I used some paper punched butterflies, adhered them with removeable  glue tape, and sprayed it with a gold mica paint, then removed the butterflies to give a negative image.

Hi Maxine. Sorry I haven't visited for a while. I have, of coursem been in UK for a month, but also your posts no longer show on my list so I forget to look.
I have looked back over a few and you have made some lovely cards. The Crazy cat is fun, and the sympathy card is lovely an peaceful - a real blessing to someone I am sure.
I am sorry youhave been so unwell and I hope you are much better now.
You asked about my little butterflies. They are actually Tunisian crochet, but in a very simple form, and because they use so few stitches they only need a normal crochet hook. There are several good tutorial videos on how to make them on Youtube. I am not sure which I followed but this is one of them.

This is so feminine with the lilac and gold, Maxine! I love the dimension and how you made a monoprint background with the stencil. All the gold touches outside, inside, and on the envelope makes the design very elegant! Thank you for inspiring everyone at NBUS! Hugs, Darnell

This is a beautiful card Maxine, loving the flower and that circle die. Oh, I have things that haven't been used yet and are years and years old! I think we all can relate to that. LOL But now this beautiful flower die has been used and is no longer "unused"! I love everything about this card, you got a great monoprint for the background! Hugs, Brenda

Such a pretty card and such a pretty flower. It doesn't matter how long you have had that die, I have had some for simply ages but if they are pretty I will go back to using them time and time again. This is one of those dies and enhances the lovely card so much.
I love your idea of using the butterflies like the ones on the card as a decoration for the envelope.
You come up with such lovely ideas.
Blessings, Neet xx
