Classic

Welcome

And an especial welcome to Wendy, my newest follower  who has an awesome blog here, please pop over and say 'hi' to her.

This card was made with a specific recipient in mind, who has an engineering background.

The 'design paper' is a piece from an old Websters Encyclopaedia Dictionary, given to me for crafting. Once I found the tables I knew it would be perfect.  So I tore it to size, and then distressed it with Vintage Photo and Faded Jeans D.I.

The car was a magazine freebie die I was given,  it was cut from a low sheen metallic blue card

The sentiment from a new (to me) Newton's Nook stamp set Birthday Sentiments, heat embossed with copper E.P.

The Bakers Twine was on my desk, (it came with the sentiment set) and I wound it around three times and secured it with a knot.

The edges of the inside panel were brushed with the Faded Jeans ink, and then the sentiment from Riley Funny Bones stamped in Espresso Coffee - again the first use of the stamp.
I have heard that the recipient loved the card!

I am linking this to:

What a beautiful vintage masculine card, I love how you reused the old dictionary page to create this beautiful background. It goes so well with the vintage car and makes a perfect birthday card for an engineer. I can imagine that creating something for a known recipient is an extra challenge as expectations might be higher, but it can also be helpful since it gives you the chance to create something really personal. You've certainly done a great job here and I'm sure the recipient will be thrilled to see what you've come up with. Thanks for joining the Alphabet challenge.

Hugs, Veronika

What an awesome die, Maxine! I love the silvery, blue roadster and the sparkly sentiment! The table in the background makes this extra special for an engineer! So nice to see this in the NBUS gallery!

It's look like a simple design, but I see you put a lot of care and detail into it, Maxine! All those wonderful details add tons of interest and depth and shine to make it a fabulous manly birthday card! Thank you for inspiring everyone at NBUS! Hugs, Darnell

How fortunate you were to have that old paper to use as your background. It works so well for the recipient, perfect! A lovely image of the ar too, and I do like it in the cardstock you used to cut it from.
Everything has worked so well, the lettering, the baker's twine everything.
A delightful card.
Blessings, Neet xx
