I decided to update my Sympathy card stash, as it has got a bit low of late.
I had the idea to use autumnal tones and my tiny maple leaf stamp, so that was my starting point

I 'inked' the stamp with my watercolour crayons, spritzed and stamped... it took a bit of trial and error before I got a panel of leaves I was happy with

I laid everything out, and decided that the base was too stark, although the colour was what I wanted, so I embossed it with a magazine freebie embossing plate that had sat around for years.
The result was 'okay', but just, after several passes through the Cuttlebug.
Don't think I will be using it again... it may end up in file 13...
I mounted that panel, and the gold embossed sympathy panel on orange, and then gold papers.

I decorated the inside of the card with more leaves, stamped in the same colour and manner, as was the envelope, which showed in the first photo

Sympathy cards are so hard for me to make. I LOVE yours though and this is so pretty and serene looking. Love the touches of gold and the beautiful leaves.

I think this is such a pretty sympathy card Maxine. The leaves are gorgeous and I love the added gold and orange frames on the kraft colored card base. I can see the embossing well, I knew it had texture right away, so I vote to keep the folder for when you don't want a bold emboss. It looks really pretty! Hugs, Brenda

That was a good idea to use the embossing folder. It lifts the card just enough. Love the orange and gold too xx

Of all the cards my DW creates these are the least favorite. That said, some of the most elegant cards are this type of card. They are usually created from the heart to the heart of another. Your card is elegant simplicity.Classy does not need to be complicated.

Love how you have stamped off the page on the inner page, I always think it looks good like that. I also like the leaves you have used, well the colouring. I like it when leaves have the colours of autumn in them and you have captured this beautifully.
