Welcome
Thank you for taking the time to visit.
Do you ever start a project with one idea in mind, and end up with something totally different? That is what happened with this card!! I won't bore you with all the details of how it morphed to this, but I will say I am very happy with this outcome!
The poppy is an old Memory Box Prim Poppy die cut
The dark background layer was embossed using an old Sizzex folder
The bow is a NBUS from earlier in the year, again from Memory Box, the sentiment stamp was a magazine freebie, stamped in Memento Paris Dusk ink, and the banner shape hand cut
The poppies were cut from white card, and coloured with so AI markers, and then had several layers of Wink of Stella applied for sparkle, which can just be seen in the upper flower
The inside was adorned with some washi tape, and until I saw the photos, didn't realise that the tape in the centre of the white card must have wrinkled and buckled the card
I used the negative of the die cut to 'stencil' some poppies onto the envelope.

love this one Maxine. The background is wonderful, it really helps your lovely poppy pop. Love the decorated envie too xx
What a great idea to use the negative of the die cut and stencil on the envelope. I'll have to try that!
Love this card Maxine and you used my very favorite die too. The embossed background is so pretty and I love that tiny bow you added.

Poppies are a favorite of mine and your bright blooms look lovely against the dark and texture. Nice way to finish the envelope. Thank you so much for joining the Allsorts challenge this week.
This happens to me often, Maxine. Your altered idea turned out great! I love the colors, simple design and texture. Great idea using the die negative to stencil the envelope. Thank you for sharing with us at Word Art Wednesday! Take Care!
So beautiful!! Love so much the textures with the embossed background and the bow! Love so much these poppies, a must have in my infinite wish list LOL and they look great with all the sparkling!
I love this simple but gorgeous card Maxine! It is just very eye catching! Love the colors you chose, the embossing and of course the poppy. That bow works perfectly with these poppies, love that. Love, love, love this card! Hugs, Brenda
I have this poppy die and it's one of my favorites, Maxine. The sunset colored ones are our California state flower and you have colored yours just like that! Hammy gives you two thumbs up for the winking! And I love the textured background and the NBUS bow! Great idea to stencil the envie with the negative - very clever! Hugs, Darnell

Blue and orange truly complement one another don't they? This is a lovely card and I do like how you have varied the colouring on the poppy heads.
A very classy card.
