Upcycled Jar

Welcome

I made this the other day when I wanted a wee gift for a friend
I had recently emptied this jar, and removed the label, but the jar was still slightly sticky, and this sparked the idea...

I wrapped it in lace,  adding some double-sided sticky tape to help hold it on

I then found some double sided paper and used a NBUS Nellie Sneddon folded heart die to make this pleated heart - this was not my first attempt - there were no instructions with the die and so a few 'oops' occurred in the making. Of course, since then I have found instructions online!!
The paper underneath the heart is the other side of the pink.
The ribbon is from my stash and matched perfectly

This is creative thinking. Using the already sticky surface to help hold the lace and ribbon is genius. I would have worked to have a clean surface. This is a wonderful gift.

Love that fan die - it looks very impressive and well worth the "oops" it brought forward whilst making.
How fortunate to find the ribbon to match so well and even more, the card to go with it. Such a lovely idea.
Blessings, Neet xx

Glad you found instructions online to help aide you in making it. It looks amazing and so perfect on top of the lid. Love the lace around the jar, so pretty. Hi Maxine, a great way to re-use an empty jar, love the heart on the top, it looks like you can thread through the holes, our empty jars get taken upto a co-op then they re-wash them and people can take the jars for free and fill them with tea, honey etc. I have my DT hat on, thank you for joining us at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends, good luck in the prize draw...
